Alyssa Elliott spent two days in Springfield at the Illinois 4-H Legislative Connection. Alyssa, along with around 30 other 4-H participants from all over the state of Illinois, were recognized in the gallery of the House of Representatives and the Senate. They were recognized for their youth leadership within the 4-H organization and communities. The two days were spent in small groups meeting with legislators and representatives and telling them about their 4-H experiences. A few people they met with were: Illinois State Senator Jason Plummer, Illinois State Representative Charles Meier, Illinois State Representative Wayne Rosenthal, and Illinois State Representative Brad Fritts. They also had the pleasure of talking to the Director of Agriculture, Jerry Costello, while at the Capitol.
We are proud to have Alyssa representing the 4-H organization and Triad at the state capitol. Way to go, Alyssa!
